Honey

One of the heaviest common baking ingredients by volume. A cup of honey is nearly 3x heavier than a cup of flour — a huge source of error for flat converters.

Why density matters

Honey has a density of 1.43 g/ml. Compare that to water at 1.0 g/ml — a denser ingredient will give a higher gram count per cup. Generic converters that assume 240g per cup for everything would give you 100g less than the actual weight — which can ruin precision bakes.
